The Mercedes GLA Edition 1 (pictured) is a luanch edition for the new GLA SUV
The new Mercedes GLA Compact SUV had its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week, and is due to go on sale in November. But when it does go on sale, sales will start off with a limited run of GLA Edition 1 cars, just as Mercedes did with the CLA 45 AMG Edition 1, but in the case of the GLA you’ll be able to spec the Edition 1 pack on any GLA model. With a choice of four exterior colours - Cirrus White, Mountain Grey Metallic, Orient Brown Metallic and Designo Magno Mountingrau – the Edition 1 comes with 19″ AMG alloys, bi-xenons, aluminium roof rails, extra chrome, leather flat-bottomed steering wheel, comfort seats and splashes of aluminium trim and stainless steel pedals.

What were Land Rover to call the new, powerful, range-topping Range Rover Sport from the new Special Operations division, we wondered. Well, wonder no more – it’s the Range Rover Sport SVR. The Range Rover Sport SVR has been revealed – in prototype form and still sporting camouflage – ahead of an appearance at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed where it will flaunt its ‘work in progress’ prowess up the Goodwood hillclimb.
With the Ibuki, Mazda designers synthesized the most successful of the first generation MX-5's iconic elements and evolved their forms to make them even more memorable and simple. To do so, they used a strong geometric theme throughout the car inside and out: LED headlamps; front air intake; tail lamps; rear view mirrors; release handles and interior details down to the pedals – every shape follow the same oval theme. Zooming out, the silhouette – as well as the top view – is also oval, making the Ibuki look more like a toy than a car, which is a real bonus for a small roadster.
